BEVERLY HILLS—While Hillary Clinton attended her fundraiser event in Beverly Hills on May 7, a rally formed to try and sway her against the Trans-Pacific Partnership, as well as Trade Promotion Authority, or “Fast Track.”

The Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) is a treaty proposal that involves regulating and investing between 12 possible countries.  Fast Track trading gives the President of the United States the authority to negotiate internationally.  Congress has the ability to approve or disapprove, but is unable to make amendments or filibuster any agreements.

The rally was held in Will Rogers Memorial Park.  Organizers of the event posted to Facebook saying, “Bring signs and pots and pans!” They asked participants to RSVP online, and had more than 220 supporters in attendance.

Multiple speakers gave information on the reasoning behind the cause, including Lauren Steiner and Jonathan Klein.  Rallying and the press conference was held at the south side of the park, before marching a half of a mile to wait for Clinton’s arrival.
