LOS ANGELES—The Los Angeles Rams improved to 2-0 with a 21-20 victory on Saturday, August 20, at the Coliseum with over 80,000 Ram fans (and a few Chief fans). In stark contrast to last week’s Dallas Cowboys encounter, which was a 50- 50 split down the middle.
Rams starting Quarterback Case Keenum fared well in leading the Rams to two quick touchdowns. He went 4 for 5 for 53 yards, with a TD pass.
Rams Quarterback Jared Goff threw his first NFL touchdown pass to Malcolm Brown, a 10-yard one handed catch for the score. Goff warmed up once the Rams established a strong ground game.
“It did take a drive or two to get in rhythm, but once I did I was happy I was left in there,” said Goff.
Running Back Todd Gurley made his L.A. debut. Gurley rushed for 20 yards on four carries, and scored on a 3-yard TD run. He is recovering from a torn Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL).
The Rams improve to (2-0) in the exhibition season. This was their last game at the Coliseum until the regular season home opener, September 18 vs. the Seattle Seahawks. Their next game is Saturday, August 27, when they visit the Super Bowl champions the Denver Broncos. The game begins at 6:00 p.m. and will air on CBS 2.
