LOS ANGELES─Rapper Offset was detained on Wednesday, January 29, at the Grove shopping mall by officers from the Los Angeles Police Department after a call reported a male in possession of a firearm.

Officers detained Offset Wednesday evening after they identified him as someone matching the description of an African American male in possession of a firearm. Officers saw Offset and his friends getting out of an SUV in the parking structure of the Grove. Upon searching the vehicle, law enforcement found two loaded handguns.

All four people in the group, including Offset, were detained in order for officers to determine who the guns belonged to. Offset was later released after two of his friends took ownership of the firearms.
