HOLLYWOOD—When the audience last saw Emily Thorne (Emily VanCamp), she discovered that her fiance, Daniel (Joshua Bowman) might have eyes for his ex Sarah. There is nothing like a woman scorned, and Emily proved so in episode eight “Secrecy”. She sensed the distance between her and Daniel, just as she attempted to reel her ‘lover’ back in.

Victoria (Madeleine Stowe) schooled Charlotte (Christa B. Allen) about the art of deception; like mother like daughter unfortunately. Jack (Nick Wechsler) warned Nolan (Gabriel Mann) about his new houseguest, Aiden (Barry Sloane); that news did not bode well with either Jack or Emily; who was a bit upset with Jack’s reaction.  It appears Daniel’s so called ‘busy’ day was a ruse to see Sarah without Emily figuring it out.  Is this guy crazy? Has he no idea of the things this woman is capable of doing?  At least, Sarah had the guts to reason with her ex about his actions, but not before Emily caught them both red-handed! Our heroine put on the performance of a life time that deserves an Oscar for convincing Sarah of the emotional rollercoaster she’s experiencing.

Conrad (Henry Czerny) informed Margaux (Karine Vanasse) of his intentions to sell his memoir to another publisher; wow this guy never changes even in near death situations. My curiosity was peaked by the instant message thatCharlotte received on her computer; she was quite frightened by the text, which surprise, she was in communication with Aiden!  Wow, what the hell is going on here? Vicky begged, begged Sarah not to give up on Daniel. To see that woman grovel is a sight in itself.

Conrad dropped a bombshell on Daniel about the secret residence he houses in the city; just as he encouraged his son to cheat on his wife at the one place no one would ever suspect.  Emily decided to purchase a watch with more gadgets than one could suspect to keep an eye on her hubby. Jack and Aiden traded spars about their love for Emily; looks like the love triangle is back in effect. Charlotte asked Aiden to take care of a ‘situation’ for her involving risque pictures that were stolen from her phone. She’s being blackmailed; I wonder how Emily will react to the news involving her sister.

At the engagement party, Victoria put on a big show to surprise the happy couple, by reacquainting them with Sarah. This woman just won’t go away no matter, how much the audience prays for it. Charlotte’s speech was targeted at Emily for vengeance, just as she got notice of an urgent situation. Aiden took matters into his own hands to protect Charlotte from her blackmailer. Victoria decided to ‘play’ a game at the party that had Daniel and Emily a bit on edge as people from the past returned back into the Grayson’s lives, as did Emily’s former hubby; Victoria tried to pull one up on Emily, but wham, our heroine was already prepared for the surprise. The Queen Bee got a harsh does of reality from Sarah, as Emily watched from a distance, full of smiles. Daniel took his father up on his offer and called Sarah to his secret lair; where Daniel returned a gift to Sarah, that Emily believed it was for her.  It appears Sarah and Daniel are indeed rekindling a romance and a wedding will not happen. Victoria delivered an early gift to Emily that allowed her to spy on her former hubby, where Emily was stunned by what she discovered. To see Victoria’s comeuppance over Emily was a shock, but I almost felt she was being genuine with the revelation.

Nolan dug deep into Aiden’s actions to implement Emily’s final plan; there’s just one problem, he’s becoming a bit obsessive with the control of the situation. Conrad was not too pleased to hear Victoria gloat about Daniel’s wedding not happening. During the final moments of the episode, Emily gave Daniel a gift and confessed that she knew about her hubby’s tryst. Danny boy didn’t know how to react to the news that Emily delivered; she’s pregnant! Ok, that was something I didn’t expect, not sure if she’s telling the truth, but I have reason to believe this is a ploy to take down the Grayson clan.  The biggest surprise was the return of Lydia Davis (Amber Valletta)! She’s not dead, this is getting good. Can’t wait for the wedding! Until December 8 “Revenge” lovers!
