MALIBU—Rockslides from the 405 freeway Sepulveda Pass and Mulholland Drive up to Pepperdine University were temporary closed Sunday, December 22 due to heavy rain and road damage. The areas reopened to motorists on Monday, December 23 at 10:45 a.m. after being cleaned up.

According to the California Highway Patrol, areas damaged by the Woolsey Fire have led to unsafe road conditions in the areas: such as steeper hills, cracks in the pavement, flooding, including shadow debris, which causes unstable driving.

Canyon News reached out to CHP for comment, but did not receive a response before print.
