HOLLYWOOD—Spreading holiday cheer is now a part of the season. Amid the hustle and bustle, can we still manage to maintain a smile? The royal couple, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge smiled as they met rapper Jay-Z and pop star Beyonce as they continued on their three-day US tour. The royal couple sat courtside at the Barclays Center on December 8. They met NBA Most Valuable Player and double Olympian LeBron James before he took the court. They all chatted, wondering if they were planning a play date for Blue Ivy and Prince George?

They began their whirlwind US visit with separate stops in Washington and New York. Prince William sat with President Barack Obama at the White House, while beautiful expectant mother Kate visited a child development center in Harlem. Imagine the surprise passengers on US Airways felt when they saw Prince William board a commercial airline. Pictures were quickly posted on Facebook. Twitter and Instagram on December 9. Kate is expecting her second child in April 2015. The couple landed on December 8, and stayed at the Carlyle Hotel, where William’s mother Princess Diana used to stay.

The royal couple had a hectic schedule for their three-day visit, including a stop at the National September 11 Memorial and Museum, where the royals, both 32, braved pouring rain. There was also a nigt of glitz and glamour, a black-tie, scholarship fundraiser for the University of St. Andrews, where the royal couple met and earned degrees. The Duchess of Cambridge, wearing a midnight blue evening gown by British designer Jenny Packham, weathered the freezing temperatures with a huge smile.

Her hair in a poignant, elegant chignon wore drop emerald and diamond earrings. Prince William was dressed in a black-tie and dinner jacket. The event which took place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art featured a guest appearance by Seth Meyers, who gave a toast in honor of William and Kate, after actor Tom Hanks reportedly had to pull out, and soprano Renee Fleming performed “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.”

Throughout their visit, they managed to meet more celebrities then a star-studded film. They mingled with British actor Patrick Stewart, Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein, Vogue editor Anna Wintour and actress and fashion designer Mary-Kate Olsen. Their visit has drawn similar comparisons with the 1985 visit made by Charles and Diana, when the princess dazzled Americans by dancing with US president Ronald Reagan and Hollywood star John Travolta.
