WEST HOLLYWOOD—The Russian Arts and Culture Festival is back for its 15th year. The local event will be held from Saturday, May 7 to Sunday, May 15. The city of West Hollywood holds the annual event to celebrate the Russian speaking community.  West Hollywood’s population includes immigrants from regions in the former Soviet Union.

The event was created and planned through the city’s Russian Advisory Board which holds events that deal with Russian heritage and culture. The event will celebrate the European holiday which is the 71st Anniversary of Victory in Europe. Veterans from the Soviet military of WWII who have contributed to the city of West Hollywood will be honored. Those interested in celebrating the holiday can do so on Saturday, May 7 at 11 a.m. at Plummer Park’s Fiesta Hall. Fiesta Hall is located at 7377 Santa Monica Boulevard. The celebration is open to the public and free to attend.

There will also be a Russian Arts and Culture festival. The free festival will have family-friendly events that will celebrate the culture and heritage of the Russian-speaking community. The 15th Annual Russian Arts and Culture Festival will also be held at Plummer Park, but on Sunday, May 15 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Plummer Park is located at 7377 Santa Monica Boulevard. Families and friends can enjoy entertainment, music, food, Russian crafts and jewelry. Families can also attend the Annual Children’s concert which will run from 12 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. From 5p.m. to 7 p.m. the Annual Gala Concert will take place.

The Russian Advisory Board has created four awards that will be given out at the 11th Annual Russian Community Awards. Those accolades will be given to recipients on May 15 at 4 p.m. at Plummer Park. Recognition is given to individuals, businesses, and organizations that have positively impacted the West Hollywood and Los Angeles Russian-speaking community. The ceremony is free to attend.
