SANTA MONICA—The Expo Line from Culver City into downtown Santa Monica is in the works and is almost ready for use.
The Facebook fan page of the Expo, Hello Expo, shared a snap of an Expo car being pulled along Centinela Avenue into Santa Monica. The caption read, “EXPO-2 Test Train Crossing Centinella and into Santa Monica. The First time an Electric Passenger Train has Been on this Right of Way in over 60 Years.”
Hello Expo also shared a small clip of the construction workers working on the project a while back. They wrote alongside it: “It is hard to believe this video was taken 2 years ago this same week in June and now the line is now in the testing Phase by METRO and in the next few days trains will be traveling threw this Station. How things have changed, these were originally posted on EXPO LINE FAN’S YouTube Page and is Re-Posted here for all your enjoyment and to look back to where we were 2 years ago in June 2013.”
The extension is scheduled to open sometime in the beginning of 2016.
