MALIBU—Southern California Edison (SCE) will start assessing electric poles throughout the city on June 20. The SCE will examine and repair poles that need to be fixed. The SCE will inspect over 9000 poles over a period of seven months.

The assessment of the poles will be taken in part to make sure that the poles meet the requirement of California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC).

According to a news release from the City of Malibu website, “Power outages could be necessary in order to replace some poles. When poles require replacement, SCE will attempt to notify all affected residences and/or businesses and also limit the extent of the outages.”
