BRENTWOOD—The Shakespeare Center of Los Angeles (SCLA) will be showing a production of Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet” at the Japanese Garden in Brentwood.

 

The SCLA first began their performances of “Romeo and Juliet” on July 8 and will continue to do so until July 26. The play was directed by Kenn Sabberton. The shows will begin every night at 8:00 p.m. and will be shown on everyday but Monday, July 21. Jake Mikesell will be portraying Romeo and Christina Elmore will be portraying Juliet.

 

The SCLA “strives to enchant, enrich, and build community through professional theatrical traditions that are accessible to all,” according to their mission statement.

 

The SCLA announced on their Facebook page that they are currently holding a photo contest on Twitter. Anyone who takes a picture of the “Romeo and Juliet” performance at the Japanese Garden and tweets it to the SCLA (@shakescenterLA) with the hashtag: ROMEOINTHEGARDEN will be entered to win a Back-To-School Pack. The winner will be selected on July 24.

Ticket prices start at $20 for those sitting in Tier 2 seating, Tier 1 seating starts at $45. Premium seating costs $70 and includes a Box Dinner from Cafe Brentwood.
