SANTA MONICA—As of November 4, the Santa Monica Police Department is asking the public for any information regarding a sexual assault that involved the victim being handcuffed and blindfolded on October 26.

The incident occurred with the two suspects seated in a parked four-door sedan along the 2900 block of Ocean Park Boulevard facing westbound around 2:30 p.m. The victim was approached by one of the two men as she walked past the vehicle on the eastbound side of the street. She was handcuffed, blindfolded and forced into the backseat of the vehicle while driven around town and sexually assaulted.

The victim pleaded for her release by offering the suspects money. The suspects drove into the Best Buy parking lot at the corner of Pico and Sawtelle Boulevard where they took the money and subsequently released her.

According to the SMPD’s crime bulletin page for the case, the first suspect was described as a male Hispanic, 40 to 45 years old, 5 feet 5 inches tall, heavy build, short dark hair, bearded and wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans. The second suspect was described as a male Hispanic, 40 to 50 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall, heavy build, bald with hair on the sides, bearded and wearing a white T-shirt and a gold watch.

When reached for comment, SMPD Sgt. Jay Trisler said there has been no information received from the public so far.
