WEST HOLLYWOOD—A shooting that transpired in West Hollywood Thursday, January 23 left one man injured.

The victim, described as a Hispanic male in his 20’s, was shot just before 2:00 a.m. that morning at the location of Fountain Avenue and Genesee Avenue.

LAPD told Canyon News in an email that the victim and the suspect were standing on Fountain Avenue looking into a parked vehicle. The suspect turned towards the victim, shot him, then fled on foot in an unknown direction.

Emergency personnel transported the victim to a nearby hospital in stable condition. Police blocked off the street for hours and they conducted their investigation.

According to LAPD, the gunman is described as a Hispanic male. Police are unsure of the motive behind the shooting. It is unknown if the shooting was gang related.

Early this week a man was shot and killed in the Fairfax area of West Hollywood. It is unknown if the two shootings are related.
