BEVERLY HILLS—Singer and actor Ray J pleaded no contest in court on August 28 from an alleged sexual battery incident that occurred at a

Beverly Hills bar in May. Ray J whose real name is Willie Ray Norwood Jr., 33, pled no contest to one count of misdemeanor trespassing.

He was taken into custody by authorities after allegedly groping a woman at the bar of the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel and refusing to leave. Once in police custody, Ray J broke a window of a police cruiser by shattering it with his feet. He also spat on an officer when they attempted to restrain him.

Norwood to three years summary probation and 50 hours of community service. He must also attend alcohol therapy and anger management classes.

The defendant was also ordered to stay clear from the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel. As part of the negotiated settlement, he will have to pay restitution for the May 30 incident. The amount to be paid will be determined during a December 8 hearing in Department 143 of Los Angeles County Superior Court, Airport Branch.
