SANTA MONICA—The Santa Monica Police Department is asking for the public’s help to locate a suspect who stabbed a man. According to a press release Canyon News received by Sgt. Rudy Flores of the SMPD, on Friday, November 3 at about 11:25 a.m., officers from the SMPD responded to a radio call for service of an assault with a deadly weapon incident in the area of Fourth Street / Santa Monica Boulevard.
When officers arrived on scene they discovered a male victim with multiple stab wounds to his upper body area. Paramedics from Santa Monica Fire Department arrived on the scene to treat the victim who was transported to a local hospital and has been listed in stable, but serious condition. Officers on scene discovered that the suspect and victim were involved in some type of confrontation before the stabbing occurred. The suspect immediately fled the area prior to police arriving on the scene.
The suspect has been described as a Caucasian male in his 20s-30s, with a thin build, long light brown hair in a bun/ponytail, wearing all black clothing, and a black backpack. The weapon used was an unknown stabbing instrument. Authorities are indicating that the suspect should be considered armed and dangerous, as the knife or other stabbing instrument has not been recovered.
A photograph of the suspect was taken by the victim immediately after the stabbing transpired. Anyone with information on the location of the suspect or the incident is asked to immediately call 9-1-1.
