SANTA MONICA—The Santa Monica Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect involved in a hit-and-run that occurred on Tuesday, November 15 at approximately 5:46 p.m. The vehicle struck a pedestrian leaving the victim unconscious with significant head trauma. The collision took place on the 1300 block of 2nd Street.

The SMPD’s Major Accident Response Team arrived on the scene to conduct a collision investigation according to the press release from Lt. Saul Rodriguez from the SMPD. Based on their evidence, authorities believe the assailant left the scene after colliding with the pedestrian. The vehicle involved has been described as a 4-door, 2000-2006 silver Nissan Sentra. Evident damage can be see from the bumper to the windshield on the right side of the vehicle. The suspect’s car was last seen on Ocean Avenue travelling south towards Colorado Boulevard.

Police have not released any information pertaining to the identity of the suspect or any additional passengers who may have been in the vehicle.
