HOLLYWOOD—Wow, is the only word that can be used to describe the last three weeks of surprises on “The Young and Restless,” “ GeneralHospital” and “Days of Our Lives.” There is so much craziness going on in the soap arena it’s difficult to keep up with all the shenanigans.

Perhaps the biggest jaw-dropper of all-time was the revelation that Cassie (Camryn Grimes), the deceased daughter of Sharon (Sharon Case) is very much alive! Yeah, for those not in the know, Cassie died a few years back in one of the biggest tearjerker moments in soap history, so there’s no way she could be alive right, did she have a twin sister we don’t know about?

Not exactly, the climatic moment was unveiled when the powerful and at times mischievous Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) met with “Cassie” at the park. As it turns out she is a doppelganger portraying Sharon’s dead daughter. Monday’s episode gave the audience a big portion of the back story to explain the doppelganger twist to the audience. This could be “Y&R’s” most fascinating story-point yet.  We can expect some sensational acting from Grimes, Braeden, Case and Joshua Morrow in the coming months. The biggest factor in all of this is Victor Newman; this may be his sickest quest for power that could ultimately turn father against son. Not to mention the entire town of Genoa City against the power titan for using a parent’s dead child to further his own agenda. Victor has gotten away with a lot of dirty things, this one not likely in my eyes.

Continuing the hoopla of February sweeps, “The Bold and Beautiful” is planning for a big wedding, pause, no its not Liam or Hope, thankfully. That ongoing storyline needs to be put on the back burner to say the least. The nuptials are between Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) and Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang).  Ridge has been hesitant to return to his one true love in the midst of her affair with her sister Katie’s (Heather Tom) husband, Bill (Don Diamont). Yeah, talk about the ultimate backstabber right.  Well it looks like Katie and Ridge have eyes for each other more than their counterparts, so the audience should expect a shocking moment when it comes time to “speak now or forever hold your piece.” Did I mention Ridge’s other true love; Taylor (Hunter Tylo) will be making her return to the series on February 28.  Oh, the love triangle just keeps twisting.

Back on “Days of Our Lives” Theresa (Jen Lilley) has refused to turn over a new leaf after nearly overdosing.  She is blackmailing Daniel (Shawn Christian) to get what she wants and keeping her boy toy JJ (Casey Moss) in her quest for vengeance. Theresa is going down a dark road, and it’s only a matter of time before she gets what’s coming to her. The same can be said for EJ (James Scott) who has been secretly hooking up with Abigail (Kate Mansi). The chemistry between the duo is hot, but what about his one true love Sami (Alison Sweeney). One can only imagine the hell on Earth this woman will unleash when she discovers the ultimate betrayal from her love. With Sweeney’s impending exit this year, one can expect the storyline to produce epic shockwaves in Salem.

We can’t forget about all the chaos taking place in Port Charles. It seems like November sweeps, were just a tease for all the madness that is taking place in the month of February. For starters, Victor Cassadine (Thaao Penghlis) swopped back in town on behalf of the WSB working with crazed Dr. Obrecht.  That woman has literally gotten away with murder.  I’m still dying to know what information she gave to the WSB for them to keep her free, there is a bigger bombshell to be released to the audience before the year ends in my opinion, something of epic proportions.

For starters, the audience has been given hope that Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) may still be alive. There’s just one problem, Burton currently stars as Dylan on “Y&R” and it doesn’t look like he’s going anywhere anytime soon, so perhaps a recast is in the near future. That bombshell however, shocked Robin (Kimberly McCullough) to the core; she risked her life for her BFF once, will she leave the love of her life Patrick (Jason Thompson) and her daughter, Emma behind to do it again. It sure looks so, but convincing her hubby the truth won’t be easy.

That’s not the only shocker in “PC” as finally wicked Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) is learning that being bad doesn’t always end the way that you expected. Clever Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) got the goods on the paternity of Britt’s son Ben, who happens to be Dante and Lulu’s son!  Does Nikolas (Tyler Christopher) really think he can stop his sister from reclaiming the son that she and her hubby created, think again. It’ll be an epic battle to say the least. See what the duo did to best friend Maxie and the ”˜baby’ wasn’t even theirs.

In the mob arena, it appears blood is not thicker than water, as Sonny (Maurice Benard), Morgan (Bryan Craig), Ava (Maura West) and Julian (William DeVry) are all circling one another to take out the competition. Let’s just say backstabbing is at an all-time high. The biggest question is who will crack first. Its appears Ava’s countless secrets are coming back to haunt her to say the least, we know she had a hand in Connie’s death, not to mention her involvement with Silas’ (Michael Easton) comatose wife Nina.  Just when will the audience see this Nina, in due time, patience is key.

Let’s be honest missing an episode of your favorite soaps right now could put you in a frenzy, as it’ll take you forever to get caught up on all the action that you have missed.
