MLK’s Son Lists Malibu Home

MALIBU—Dexter Scott King, the son of deceased civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King, is selling his contemporary Malibu home.

MLK’s youngest son has listed the four-bedroom, six-bathroom home for the asking price of for $4.85 million.

The oceanfront home rests on an acre of land, featuring garden pathways, mature palms, and varied fruit trees. The home’s spacious grounds also boast a Koi pond, swimming pool, waterfall spa, and cabana.

The 6,823 square-foot living quarters offer an office, gym, home theater, and balconies that expand the ocean view on two different levels.

King, 54, is the chairman of the King Center in Atlanta and is known for writing “Growing up King: An Intimate Memoir.” King, who bears a striking resemblance to his father, played the part of the deceased reverend in the 2002 film “The Rosa Parks Story.”

According to public record, King initially purchased the home in 2006 for $4.16 million.
