HOLLYWOOD“7th Heaven” actor Stephen Collins, 67, admitted this week that he sexually abused three different girls between 1973 and 1994. The admission comes two months after TMZ released an audio recording of Collins confessing his secret to his estranged wife, Faye Grant.

Regarding the audio recording, Collins explained, “various news organizations published a recording made by my then-wife, Faye Grant, during a confidential marriage therapy session in January, 2012. This session was recorded without the therapist’s or my knowledge or consent.”

In the wake of the leaked audio, Collins penned an extensive, 1,000-word confession, which will be published in its entirety in People magazine this week.

In the recording, the embattled actor admits to exposing himself on two occasions to his first victim, who was a “pre-teen” girl. It was 1973 and Collins was 25 years old.

A few months later, Collins explains that while watching TV alone with the girl, he moved her hand and caused her to touch him inappropriately.

Collins also details the other instances of abuse, one occurring in 1982 the other in 1994. In those incidents, he argues, he exposed himself to two other teen girls, but had no physical contact with them as he did with his first victim in 1973.

Collins has reportedly apologized to one of his victims, but hasn’t made any contact with the two others out of concern that “being direct about such matters could actually make things worse for them by opening old wounds.”

“With all my heart, I want them to know how sorry I am and that I haven’t engaged in any such behavior for over twenty years,” Collins said.

The Los Angeles Police Department along with the New York Police Department are now revisiting an investigation that was opened in 2012, when a woman accused the actor of molesting her.
