WEST HOLLYWOOD—A carjacked work truck smashed into a West Hollywood storefront near West Santa Monica Boulevard and Croft Avenue on Friday, October 21, according to sheriff’s deputies from the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department.

The crash was reported at approximately 3:54 a.m. and first-responders rushed to the scene: “Mail Boxes & Things Inc.” – a notary public and mailing service located at 8424 Santa Monica Boulevard.

A preliminary investigation confirmed that the suspect stole the parked construction vehicle from workers who were cleaning the streets on San Vicente Boulevard, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department West Hollywood Station told Canyon News.

After the suspect plowed the stolen vehicle into the storefront, he fled the scene with two Hispanic men in a silver Volkswagen, according to reports.

Los Angeles County Firefighters arrived on scene to pull the truck from the building—which sustained serious damage. Building inspectors were summoned to assess the wreckage. A detailed description of the driver was not immediately available. All three suspects are still at large.
