BEVERLY HILLS—The city of Beverly Hills Public Works Department commenced work on refurbishing an underground storage tank beneath the BH Library on Monday, March 19. According to a press release from the city of Beverly Hills, the work is expected to last for one month.

Work will take place in the ADA parking area of the Library entrance, blocking access to the outside handicapped parking spaces and the book drop-off during construction. A large truck will be staged in the entrance to accelerate the work.

Note the following restrictions and access during construction only:

-The parking structure will be open and handicapped parking will be available inside the structure.

-One lane open each direction in and out of the parking structure.

-Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

-No left turns will be allowed from southbound Rexford Drive into the parking structure.

-The work will take place at night in order to minimize inconvenience for Library patrons. Construction hours are 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Mon.-Fri.

The tank is used to store water to assist the chillers and cooling system serving the Civic Center building.
