BEVERLY HILLS — The City Council and Human Relations Commission honored several students who created effective anti-bullying videos as part of the public service announcement competition.

“The Silent Word,” by Sara Sacks, Sarah Yadegari and Tali Mahbouhi, won first place among the 4th to 8th grade submissions and can be found here:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pUup7c6dCJY&feature=youtu.be.

Second place was “Bully Rap Music” (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DafZPLtEcVI).

Among the high school submissions included, “Friends Matter” (https://vimeo.com/42636248) won first place and “Words Can Hurt” (https://vimeo.com/55567741) was the runner-up. Participants came from all over Los Angeles County, including the High Desert Middle School in Acton.

The competition was part of Beverly Hills’ Embrace Civility program. The Human Relations Commission is a five-member committee appointed by the City Council; its purpose is to promote a positive community and a just society in Beverly Hills through activities and programs.
