LAUREL CANYON—The Los Angeles Police Department issued an AMBER alert for Jaden Jose, 18 months, after her biological father, who does not have custody, kidnapped her without the biological mother’s consent and threatened to leave California on Thursday, August 9.
The father, John Jose, 30, took Jaden from her home near the 9500 block of Laurel Canyon Boulevard at 3:30 p.m. on August 9 and threatened to commit suicide, according to the the Los Angeles Police Department Blog. The AMBER alert was issued at around 11 p.m.
Authorities were on the lookout for the suspect who had been described as a Filipino male with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen on Thursday evening driving a 2004 dark blue, four-door Audi.
On Friday, August 10, police located the suspect and the infant in Chula Vista at around 1 a.m. The LAPD issued a statement later in the day confirming that Jaden had been found safe and was reunited with her mother.
