GRIFFITH PARK—The suspect responsible for the vicious attack of another man in Griffith Park on November 3 was charged on Wednesday, November 5. Tyrone Isumu, 54, of Encino was charged with one count of attempted murder the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office announced.

The criminal complaint notes a great bodily injury allegation, as the victim is comatose and suffering from paralysis. Isumu hit the victim multiple times with a rock. The suspect later grabbed a large trash can and struck the victim with it.

The victim sustained serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital to be treated. Isumu fled the scene of the crime, but was later captured by police. Prosecutors are asking for Isumu’s bail to be set at $530,000. If convicted, the suspect could face the possible maximum of life behind bars without the possibility of parole. The case is still under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department.
