SANTA MONICAProlific television producer and writer, Glen A. Larson, passed away on November 14, from esophageal cancer at the UCLA Medical Center. He was 77.

Larson produced some of the most popular cult TV series of the 1970s and 1980s including “Battlestar Galactica,” “Quincy M.E.,” “The Fall Guy,” and “Knight Rider.”

In 1978, he was nominated for an Emmy Award for his work on “Quincy M.E.”

In 1979, Larson, who was an accomplished singer and composer as well, was nominated for an Emmy Award for Best Original Score for a TV Special for his assistance in the writing and composing of the theme song of “Battlestar Galactica.”

He received his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1985 for his influence on the television industry.

Mr. Larson is survived by his wife, Jeannie Pledger, a brother, and eight other children from two different marriages.
