HOLLYWOOD —On March 28, investigators searched for the suspect who shot and killed 38-year-old Karine Hakobyan, a Hollywood woman whose body was discovered in her vehicle by police. The victim was in her 30s.

It is believed that the woman’s killing is in connection to two other killings that occurred in 2008, in which a 43-year-old Armenian man, Khachik Safaryan, and his 8-year-old daughter Lusine, were shot to death.  Safaryan’s 15-year-old daughter found their bodies in their residence on the 1200 block of Tamarind Avenue in December 2008.

Los Angeles police found Hakobyan’s Honda on the 5800 block in Lexington Avenue in Hollywood on March 19. Police have concluded that Hakobyan was shot in the back of the head.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, “LAPD Hollywood Homicide detectives responded to the scene, and their investigation revealed that Hakobyan was related to two other victims murdered in December 2008.”

A representative from the the Los Angeles Police Department’s Hollywood Community Station told Canyon News that because the case remains unsolved, no further information is available. However, he stated, “If anyone has any other information, we would certainly like for them to come forward.”
