BEVERLY HILLS—Funerals were held on Tuesday, July 1, in the
West Bank for three teens whose bodies were found three weeks after they disappeared. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the country would avenge the deaths of the three teens and that “May God avenge their blood.”

Naftali Fraenkel, 16, Gilad Shaar, 16 and Eyal Yifrach 19, were abducted on their way home from school on June 12 near the
West Bank. Their bodies were found on June 30, in a field. The Israeli government suspects Hamas to be responsible for the abduction and murder of the three teens and has vowed to make them pay for their crimes.

According to a press release from the City of Beverly Hills, the City flew their American flags half-mast on July 1, as the City Council asked for a moment of silence for the slain teens.

“The killings have shocked the entire Beverly Hills community,” said Mayor Lili Bosse. “We wanted to show our solidarity with the Israeli people and the families of the boys who were killed. We hope and pray that the Israeli government will bring the killers to justice and work toward a world where our children are safe in their own communities.”
