BEVERLY HILLS—The city of Beverly Hills has announced that they will be selling discounted opening ceremony tickets for the 2015 Los Angeles’ Special Olympics. The ceremony will take place at the LA Coliseum on July 25 at 5 p.m.

Back in March, it was announced that Beverly Hills was selected as a Host City for this summer’s games for 300 special athletes from Monaco and Gibraltar.

On the games website it states that, “with 6,500 athletes and 2,000 coaches representing 165 countries, along with 30,000 volunteers and an anticipated 500,000 spectators, the 2015 Special Olympics World Games – being staged in Los Angeles July 25-August 2, 2015 – will be the largest sports and humanitarian event anywhere in the world in 2015.”

President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama are the Honorary Chairs of the games, which is expected to draw in 80,000 spectators this year.

The LA Coliseum is familiar with the Olympic games, as it was the host back in 1932 and 1984.
