HOLLYWOOD—Sunday night’s episode of “Dexter” was titled “Take It.” Lumen found herself deeper into Dexter’s murderous plot, and she also accidentally left her trail at the scene of a crime. Dexpert Bobby Head said, “this was one of the best episodes so far for the season. Although I was no fan of Rita’s, Lumen is absolutely amazing with Dexter and if she’s not his soul mate, she will indeed be his undoing.” Also on the exciting episode, the subplots included Debra and Batistia both finding themselves between a rock and a hard place during the Santa Muerte investigation. With the Lt. doing her best to cover up the mistakes she made during the stakeout, she planted evidence and false stories to make it seem as though Debra was the one who made the mistakes, which caused two innocent witnesses to be killed.

Batistia decided when Debra was put on paid administrative leave, to stand by his partner and not his wife. His marriage is facing a certain death when his wife, who is also his superior and supervisor finds out that he will not back up her lies, and that he will do what he has to in order to bring his partner back to the force with dignity and to help her clear her name.

Quinn is losing control of the crooked private investigator that he hired to trail Dexter, and to find out about the woman he’s now living with. Lumen found herself in a fender bender with the private dick, who rammed her car, then made her believe that it was her fault. When he threatened to call the cops, which he had no intentions of doing, she agreed to give her license to him and insurance information. He used that information to investigate her background, and he put more into his investigation than is actually true. He now believes like Quinn that Dexter killed his own wife, but the investigator believes further, that Dexter and Lumen were involved before Rita’s death.

Dexter went on the hunt to kill Cole, who is the head of security for the famed motivational speaker, who is in Miami. When Cole found Lumen in the lobby of the hotel, he tracked her all the way to her room, kicked in the door, then proceeded to try to murder her again. Dexter arrived in time to save Lumen, then later tortured and killed Cole. Dexter’s primal instincts of knowing a fellow serial killer proved right. He figured out that Cole was not only involved with Boyd’s kidnappings and murders, but that so is the motivational speaker himself.

Dexter confided his lifelong secret to Lumen, who seemed very fascinated in Dexter’s serial killing history. Fans want to know why Lumen’s not running from Dexter and they also had a lot to say after tonight’s exciting episode “Take it.” Wendy Dow said, “Omg, Omg Omg- I threw the ”˜F’ bomb out and jumped off the couch during the intense hotel scene! And the last part??!! I’m stunned [Sic].”

Stephen Phillips doesn’t like the private eye too much. He posted on Facebook, “Wow, that dirty cop needs to land on Dexter’s table!” “I don’t know if I can wait a week! Just gets deeper and deeper,” said Terry Michon. I concur with April Dukert Kingslien’s comment, “Next week looks so intense,” said Kingslien.

The show is exciting and picking up steam. Julia Stiles is amazing as Lumen, and her mysterious side is played perfectly opposite Michael C. Hall’s ability to seem like he’s sometimes a fragile child on the edge of breaking down. As the episode ended, the crooked private eye was taking photos of Dexter and Lumen on a boat throwing garbage bags, which included Cole’s body parts into the water. The writing gets better with every week. Fans are excited for good reason for next week’s shocking installment.

“Dexter” airs Sunday nights on HBO.
