MALIBU—On Wednesday, December 19, a garbage truck and a motorcyclist were involved in a traffic collision along westbound Pacific Coast Highway and Winding Way. The accident occurred at 6:55 a.m. and resulted in one fatality.

It was reported by the Malibu Times through confirmation by the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station that the motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital after the incident. The victim later died from injuries sustained during the collision.

The city of Malibu released a statement on their website regarding the collision’s impact on traffic stating: “Sheriff’s Deputies are at the scene of a traffic collision on PCH at Winding Way. Westbound traffic on PCH is down to one lane in the area, and is expected to be impacted for several hours. Eastbound traffic is not affected.”
