HOLLYWOOD—“True Blood” resumes filming in just a week. The vampire cult classic TV series will begin shooting season four, which is supposed to be even more shocking than the previous three seasons. Show creator, producer and writer Alan Ball is expected to focus a major portion of the season on the witches. Season one focused mainly on vampires, then season two we were faced with Maryann, an evil maenad, who took most of Bon Temps by storm and placed the denizens of the sleepy Louisiana town under her demonic spell. Last season we found out there were werewolves in the neighborhood and ultimately were-panthers too.

Lafayette’s smoldering relationship with Jesus showed viewers that the drag queen has a supernatural past and future, while Arlene’s pregnancy by serial killer Rene brought her into direct contact with a Wiccan. Sam also found his long lost family, but regretted ever meeting them. His father is a sociopath, his mother a deranged shape shifter and brother Tommy is on the run with Sam’s money, which Tommy stole from the safe in Merlotte’s Bar.

Perhaps the most exciting part of the third season was the revelation that Sookie is a fey. She learned that her species was made extinct by vampires, who could not resist the taste of the alien’s blood. Sookie and Bill, the show’s super couple faced many adversities, from werewolf Alcide to the King of Mississippi, who was on a mission to find out Sookie’s secret. Eric also plotted continuously against the show’s main couple and Jason found himself in deep trouble and more heartbreak when he fell in love with the daughter of a meth dealer.

Hoyt and Jessica remained star crossed lovers for most of the season, but viewers of the hit HBO drama were happy with the way their storyline concluded. “True Blood” cast and crew will arrive on set next week to recreate the town we all have grown to love and enjoy. Viewers have one major question facing them when the series returns in 2011. Where has Sookie gone to? We last saw her going into the arms of a fellow fairy named Claudine, who was very worried that vampire Bill would steal her light and goodness. When Sookie went to the Bon Temps Cemetery, she soon disappeared before our very eyes.

Truebies have a lot of questions they want answered. The HBO series will be releasing the third season on DVD and Bluray very soon.
