WEST HOLLYWOOD—At approximately 1:15 a.m. on Saturday, July 27 deputies from the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department West Hollywood Station responded to a report of a stolen car in West Hollywood from an Uber driver, leading to a police pursuit.

Lieutenant William Moulder informed Canyon News that the Uber driver was pushed out of the vehicle. Upon carjacking the car, authorities followed the female from West Hollywood to downtown Los Angeles. She crashed into another car before coming to a stop in the drive-thru of a fast-food restaurant in the area of Adams Boulevard and Figueroa Street, where she was stopped by deputies.

The carjacker was later taken into police custody. The LASD station is handling the investigation. The suspect is still in police custody. Authorities have indicated that the District Attorney’s Office has filed charges.
