Canyon News spoke to a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) who discussed the effects of the Plan B pill indicating when consumed it can cause the body to sluff off or abort the fertilized egg.

The Pharmacy Technician, who worked at a local CVS told Canyon News that rarely does a woman come in to make such a purchase. She stated that it was normally men that came in to purchase the morning after pill. She added that concerns were raised about young women potentially being slipped the drug in a drink.

The side effects of Planned B include nausea, vomiting, dizziness, fatigue, headache, tenderness in the breast, bleeding between menstrual periods, heavier menstrual flow, abdominal pain, cramping infertility or difficulty getting pregnant and also menopause occurring later than the normal age for women.

The Mayo Clinic’s website notes that the drug Levonorgestrel is available over-the-counter without a prescription. It is ulipristal acetate and is available only with a prescription.
