HONOLULU, HAWAII—UCLA placekicker Ka’imi Fairbairn is racking up the nominations this month.

Just weeks after being named to the Lou Groza Watch List for the upcoming season, the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame announced Tuesday, July 28, that the Kailua, Hawaii native is on the 2015 Watch List for the Polynesian College Football Player of the Year Award, presented by Starwood Hotels and Resorts.

The award is presented annually to the most outstanding Polynesian college football player that epitomizes great ability and integrity.

The 6-foot senior has earned the hype heading into his final season after connecting on 29 straight field goal attempts from 35 yards and in and is sixth on the all-time school field goal list (48).

Fairbairn is also fifth in career scoring (306) and is the first Bruin to score over 100 points in three straight seasons.

He finished the 2014 season having made 13 of his last 14 field goal attempts and connected on 18 of 22 attempts overall for a .818 percentage, which ranked 19th in the nation and third in the Pac-12.

“There are nearly 300 players of Polynesian Ancestry in Division I college football today,” said Jesse Sapolu, Chairman and Co-Founder.  “This award showcases their incredible talents and gives us a platform to celebrate their success as student-athletes.”

The winner of the award will be announced on December 8. Five finalists will be unveiled on November 19. The formal presentation will be held at the Celebration Dinner during the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Weekend on January 29, 2016.
