WESTWOOD—Authorities from the UCLA Police Department are searching for the suspect responsible for a sexual battery incident that occurred on Tuesday, September 30.

The incident happened at 12 p.m., when the female victim was walking southbound on Sepulveda Boulevard. The suspect walked past the victim and then turned around and grabbed her. The victim did not know the suspect, who later fled southbound away from Sepulveda Boulevard towards Palms Blvd.

The victim is not a student on the UCLA campus. The suspect is described as an African-American male, 30-40 years old, standing 5 feet and 11 inches to 6 feet tall. Authorities describe the suspect as having a slim build, with a dark complexion and afro style black hair. He was seen wearing a black hooded sweater or jacket, with dark colored (possibly grey) sweatpants and unknown colored “sneakers.”

The victim did not sustain any injuries during the attack. The UCLA Police Department is still investigating the case. Anyone with information on the suspect or the incident is asked to contact the UCLA Police Department at (310) 825-1491 and refer to report #14-1827.
