WESTWOOD—A UCLA student was found dead in his apartment after firefighters responded to a report of a structure fire on Saturday, December 13.

Firefighters found the economics major in a smoke-filled room in his Westwood apartment, located near the corner of Levering and Kelton avenues. Once on the scene, firefighters found no active fire in the building. Paramedics attempted to revive the student before declaring him dead.

His death is currently under investigation as a possible suicide and the student’s parents are maintaining anonymity and privacy in the immediate aftermath of his death.
