LOS ANGELES—Authorities from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Bureau Homicide are asking for the public’s assistance to locate a male suspect involved in a hit-and-run collision that left one man dead and another hospitalized.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, May 24 just before 1:00 a.m. at Winnetka Avenue and Gilmore Street. Upon arrival, Valley Traffic Division officers discovered two male cyclists injured after being hit by a white utility type vehicle.

According to the LAPD, the two victims were riding their bikes home from work at a nearby business. While traveling north on Winnetka Avenue, the suspect veered from his lane, colliding with both cyclists. The suspect reportedly stopped and looked over his shoulder before continuing north on Winnetka Avenue, pulling into the parking lot of a nearby motel. He was later seen traveling westbound on Vanowen Street.

The deceased victim’s name is currently being withheld as his identification has not been confirmed by relatives. The victim, who survived his injuries was released from the hospital and is resting at home, according to authorities.
