LOS ANGELES – On Saturday, March 22, a deaf event will be hosted by the Greater Los Angeles Agency on Deafness Inc. GLAD’s event (which is free of charge and will provide lunch) known as, “Imagine A Violence-Free Dead Community” will attempt to spread awareness for violence within the deaf and hard of hearing community.
GLAD hopes that this event will help address issues related to domestic violence and its impact on the deaf and hard of hearing population. The booths at the event will promote other important issues such as The Clothesline Project (which helps violence in women), HIV protection and Personal Security awareness.
Some booths will feature arts and crafts, poetry and guest speakers.
