BEVERLY HILLSMy name is “Rambo”, and I’m the boy on the left.  The boy next to me is “Rocky”.  Don’t we make a handsome pair?  We’re both Shepherd mixes, and we’re about 11 months old.  Everyone has only good things to say about us, and that makes us very happy, because we were very sad when  our “person” had to give us up because of  health reasons.
We’re very easy to get along with. We get along with other dogs, we’re not aggressive, we’re not barkers, and we have no separation anxiety.  So, as you can see, we’d make a good addition to any family.  Could it be yours?
We’ve always been together, and hope that we can stay that way, as we would sure miss each other if we were separated.  So, if you have room in your home and your heart for both of us, you’ll get twice as much love.  I think that’s a fair trade-off, don’t you? So, won’t you please call to see us?
Note:  We are all aware of dogs and cats being poisoned by accidentally ingesting human medication.  But, are you aware of how many humans are poisoned by mistakenly taking medications prescribed by veterinarians for their pets?  It was recorded by the National Poison Data system that there were 825 cases of people between the ages of 6 months and 88 years that took veterinary non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs in 2007, which is the most recent year that figures are available.  Only 32 of those were believed to be intentional.
The pills can easily be confused with human medication, so be sure to store all pet medication in a separate place – well away from adult medication – and well out of the reach of children.  Be sure to read the labels before taking medication, or giving medication to your pets.  The containers and colors of pills are very similar in some cases.
I hate to admit it, but years ago I gave my little dog, Buffy, one of my pills by mistake.  It was the same size and color of one of my pills.  As I put the lid back on the bottle, I realized what I had done.  I was frantic, and called the veterinary hospital right away.  They said to come right over. They emptied his stomach and took all of the necessary precautions, and, luckily, he was fine.  I’m sure that he wondered what he had done to deserve that!  And, I felt so very guilty!  With that, I learned my lesson about keeping his pills separate from mine, and to always check the labels.
“Rambo” and “Rocky” are waiting for that call!  Be sure to check our website at: foafla.petfinder.com to see all of our wonderful dogs and cats that are waiting for loving homes.
