HOLLYWOOD—Everyone who is anyone attended the Cannes International Film Festival that took place from May 13-24, in Cannes, France. The annual film event previews new films of all genres, including documentaries, from around the world. So what are people buzzing about? One of the films is “Map to the Stars,” directed by David Cronenberg and starring Robert Pattinson, Julianne Moore, Carrie Fisher, Mia Wasikowska, John Cusak, Sarah Gadon and Olivia Williams.

The film was written by Bruce Wagner, one of the smartest and funniest writers in Hollywood these days. The movie tours into the heart of a Hollywood family chasing some relentless ghosts of their pasts. The Weiss family struggles with money, fame, envy and hauntings.

Another film that is buzzing is the new Amy Winehouse documentary, which depicts the star’s short-lived life. Her family is criticizing the film as “misleading.” The star, who died at age 27 from alcohol poisoning in 2011, confesses at one point during the film that fame is hard to handle. The film “Amy,” was directed by Asif Kapadia. Amy was above all, a six-time Grammy-winner that captured the world with her incredible talent. She wrote and sung from the heart, with her uniqueness.

Buzzing is the film titled “Carol,” set in 1950s New York, a department-store clerk who dreams of a better life falls for an older, married woman. The film stars Cate Blanchett, Rooney Mara, Kyle Chandler and many more.

The buzz at this year’s film festival was about the Cannes high heel rule. According to published reports, film producer Valeria Richter, who had part of her left foot amputated, says she was stopped at the Cannes Film Festival for not wearing high heels. Richter, who was eventually allowed in, spoke up after Cannes was accused of turning away women in flat shoes. The festival has denied that heels are part of the official dress code. Stars that attended the festival, included Cara Delevingne, Natalie Portman, Emily Blunt and Paris Hilton.

Paris Hilton shined at the Cannes Film Festival with so many of her gorgeous gowns. The 34-year-old heiress really knows how to travel in luxury and style. After attending the Cannes Film Festival. she flew to Monaco using Uber’s newest helicopter taxi service. Before taking off, she posed beside the Uberchopper then shared the snap to her millions of Twitter and Instagram followers.

It seems that selfie’s are not allowed on the red carpet, however, it didn’t stop Paris Hilton, Eva Longoria, Woody Allen, Tom Hardy and Salma Hayek from taking selfies while on the carpet. Hilton arrived in Cannes this past weekend to promote her new single “High Off My Love.” Her promotional tour began in the UK before heading to Cannes. She will be heading to Cabo, Mexico next. Earlier this month, Paris released a new music video for “High Off My Love, in support of her latest track. Let me just say this, the music video is so hot, it should be called Fifty Shades of Paris.
