SANTA MONICA_”The William Turner Gallery kicked off the month of March with the opening of two exhibitions: Curtis Ripley’s “Here and Now” and Michel Tabori’s “In Search of Lost Time.” The exhibitions both premiered from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on March 1.

 

Curtis Ripley’s artwork, which displays an impressive use of oil on canvas, is a welcome addition to the William Turner Gallery’s displays. Currently displaying his exhibition “Here and Now,” Ripley’s has presented his artwork at the William Turner Gallery four times before; starting in 2003 he display his exhibit simply titled, “New Painting” from November 15 to December 13. He then presented his exhibition “Recent Painting” in 2004 from October 20 to December 3. In 2007, Ripley presented at the Santa Monica gallery for the third time with his exhibition “Nocturnes and Preludes.” In 2010, Ripley returned for a fourth time with his exhibition, “We Are Not Alone” from September 11 to October 16.

 

Michel Tabori’s works favor a used of mixed media to portray movement. His last exhibition “Sex and Proust _“ Remembrance of Things Past,” was seen in October 2013 at the Dillon
Gallery in New York. In his latest exhibition, “In Search of Things Past” is currently on display at the William Turner Gallery. Presently, Tabori is working on his latest exhibition, “Regenesis” which is describes on his website as “a new work that celebrates nature in a series of glass and steel sculptures based on [Tabori’s] resin on canvas flexible light installation.”

 

The William Turner Gallery can be found at Bergamot Station on 2525 Michigan Ave., #E-1 in Santa Monica,CA. The works will be on display at the Gallery until April 12.
