ENGLAND—It was a battle to the finish for the women and men who competed for the top prize at the 2014 Wimbledon championship games.

In one corner we had Petra Kvitova battled against Eugenie Bouchard. In the end, Bouchard was no match for Kvitova, who took out her opponent in just two sets 6-3, 6-0, in just under 55 minutes. I must say that might have been one of the shortest Wimbledon finals matches I have seen.

On the men’s side it was Roger Federer fighting against Novak Djokovic. It looked as if Federer was about out of the game near the fourth set, but he rallied back to send the match to five sets. In the end, Djokovic wanted it a bit more as he defeated his opponent 6-4, 7-6(4) and 6-4. It was indeed a lengthy match, clocking in just under four hours.

Djokovic’s win over Federer catapulted him back to the #1 spot in the world, for the first time since September 2013. This marks Djokovic’s second
Wimbledon championship.
