UNITED STATES—A woman has been arrested after attacking a man inside the Casa Vallarta restaurant in Cape Cod after assaulting a male customer in a Make America Great Again hat.
Bryton Turner, 23, of Mashpee, Massachusetts, 25, was ordering food when a woman Rosiane Santos, 41, came up and allegedly started screaming at him and knocked his hat off his head. Turner, who was annoyed by the woman, began recording the incident on his cell phone.
WBZ News in Boston indicated that bartender, Geo Macarao noted that Turner did nothing to provoke the attack. When authorities came to escort Santos out, she lunged for Turner again.
“I’m just trying to sit here and eat a nice meal,” said Turner to WBZ News in Boston
“I had a little bit to drink maybe, Santos admitted to police and anyone that would listen, “that’s the reason that I couldn’t walk away, but being discriminated for so many times in my life, I just had to stand up for myself,” she said. “He’s not a victim. I am the victim. I have been bullied, OK?”
According to the police, Santos went on to tell the arresting officers that Turner should not be allowed to eat at a Mexican restaurant if he supported President Trump who is planning to build a wall on the Mexican border.
Santos is a Brazilian immigrant, who is in the country illegally. She was charged with disorderly conduct and assault & battery. She is currently facing charges for assault and has been arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
An ICE spokesperson reported that “She has since been released from ICE custody after being entered into removal proceedings in federal immigration court and provided a Notice to Appear at a future date before an immigration court.”
