MALIBU —On Sunday, June 28, thousands of car enthusiasts packed into Malibu’s Zuma Beach parking lot. After some of the cars began doing donuts and causing a disturbance, police were called to the scene.

Some of the cars began doing donuts and burning rubber, posing a potential hazard to the public. Sheriff deputies from Marina Del Rey, West Hollywood, and the Lost Hills Station in Calabasas were called to the scene to contain the situation.

By noon, the Malibu beach was completely swarmed with lowriders and beachgoers. Danger was prevalent at both Zuma and Trancas Beach.

Zuma Beach has the largest parking lots in the Santa Monica Bay area.City News Service reports the City of Malibu pays extra money for police to patrol Zuma Beach, in addition to having the local sheriff’s office patrol the area.
