HOLLYWOOD—Actress and comedian Anne Meara passed away on May 23 at the age of 85.

Meara was the wife of actor Jerry Stiller and the mother of actor Ben Stiller.

She played recurring roles on “ALF” and “Archie Bunker’s Place.” Her most recent work includes her appearances on “Sex and the City” as Steve Brady’s mother Mary.

The Stiller family released a statement following her death discussing the relationship between Jerry Stiller and his wife that read: “The two were married for 61 years and worked together almost as long.”

Anne and Jerry appeared side-by-side on The Ed Sullivan Show and played recurring roles on television series “All My Children” and “The King of Queens.”

The statement concluded: “Anne’s memory lives on in the hearts of daughter Amy, son Ben, her grandchildren, her extended family and friends, and the millions she entertained as an actress, writer and comedienne.”
