Her death was confirmed by the Houston family, who released the following statement: “Bobbi Kristina Brown passed away July 26, 2015, surrounded by her family. She is finally at peace in the arms of God. We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support these last few months.”

Bobbi Kristina was found in her home in Roswell, Georgia, unconscious and lying face down in her bathtub earlier this year on January 31. She was found by her boyfriend Nick Gordon and her friend Max Lomas. It was said that her condition was drug related and it is almost an exact replica of her mother, Whitney Houston’s death in February 2012. Houston was also found in a bathtub in the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Her death was attributed to cocaine use and heart disease.

After Bobbi Kristina was found unconscious she was rushed to the hospital and put into a medically induced coma, which she never woke up from. She was moved to hospice care on June 24, when her condition continued to deteriorate. Nick Gordon was raised with Bobbi Kristina and there were reports circling the relationship between the two. It was said that they had entered a romantic relationship after the death of Whitney Houston and they were reportedly engaged in October 2012. Bobbi Kristina claimed to have tied the knot with Nick Gordon on January 9, 2014, but there has not been any records discovered to validate a marriage taking place.

Bobbi Kristina was the sole heir of Whitney Houston’s estate; her father is R&B singer Bobby Brown. Houston and Brown had a very tumultuous relationship that came to life in the reality show “Being Bobby Brown” which aired in 2005. Bobbi Kristina was also apart of this show, which showcased the dynamic within the family, which wasn’t healthy. Houston and Brown divorced in 2007, when Bobbi Kristina was 14, and Houston retained custody of her daughter.

Whitney Houston rose to prominence in the mid-1980s and stayed relevant despite issues in her personal life. Bobbi Kristina was very close to her mother and took her death extremely hard; upon finding out her mother had passed away Bobbi Kristina was hospitalized after having a breakdown.

She attended many events with her mother and it was commented by Houston that she and her daughter shared the same relationship that Houston did with her mother, Cissy Houston. Bobbi Kristina had plans to follow in her mother’s footsteps to become a singer.
