CLEVELAND, OH—The Los Angeles Clippers snapped a three game losing streak, defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers 113-94 on Thursday, December 1.

J.J. Redick led the Clippers with 23 points, including a game-high four 3-pointers. Chris Paul had 16 points, six rebounds and nine assists; Blake Griffin added 13 points, five rebounds and 12 assists.

Clippers head coach Doc Rivers was complimentary of his team, who beat the reigning NBA champions for the first time this season.

“We actually played to our potential. We had some adversity, which is great. Chris got in foul trouble and we [still] extend the lead. It’s a team win.”

Kyrie Irving scored a game-high 28 points for Cleveland, who have lost two straight games. LeBron James made 5 of 14 shot attempts for 16 points while grabbing five rebounds and five assists.

James described the Cavaliers recent play as “poor,” after committing a game-high five turnovers.

“Two pretty bad games for sure. You’re hoping they’re not back-to-back, but it happens,” James said after the game. “It’s different from football where you have to wait a week to redeem yourself.”

The Cavaliers are now 13-4 overall, first in the Eastern Conference. Cleveland will begin a three-game road trip with a matchup against the Chicago Bulls on Friday, December 2.

Los Angeles is 15-5 on the season and fourth in the Western Conference. The Clippers will see the New Orleans Pelicans in their next game on Friday, December 2.
