WESTWOOD—Former UCLA football player, Craig Anthony Lee, 23,  was taken into custody on Friday, July 19 on felony charges of attempted robbery and murder involving a robbery gone wrong at a marijuana shop in Jurupa Valley back in 2016.

Two males are seen on security footage walking into the shop with Lee behind them. One of the suspect shot at an employee, Lee fled the shop once the shooting began.

Lee was arrested along with John Carlton Ross and is currently held on bail for $1 million, TMZ Sports first reported. Lee encountered academic difficulties while studying at UCLA, which led to his removal from the team.

A GoFundMe page set up by Lee’s family reads:

“Anyone that knows Craig should know pulling a gun on someone with intentions to murder them is not in his character.”
