HOLLYWOOD—Just as we had suspected Bob Dylan will not be traveling to Sweden to receive his Nobel Prize for Literature in person, it has been announced. The Swedish Academy, which awards the Nobel prizes, said it has received “a personal letter” saying he was unable to attend next month’s Nobel ceremony “due to pre-existing commitments.”

Dylan, felt honored and wished he could receive the prize personally. The singer is required to give a Nobel lecture between now and next June. The 75-year-old will not be the first recipient of the prestigious award to have been a no-show at the prize-giving ceremony.

Two other recipients, Harold Pinter and Doris Lessing also did not attend the event back in 2005 and 2007. It is a requirement, the only requirement the Academy insists on, within 6 months counting from December 10, 2016. Bob Dylan’s win was a major talking point when it was announced last month, as was his apparent silence on the matter. Some folks, interpreted that it was a sign, he was ambivalent about the award, though the Academy later said he appreciated it “so much.” The veteran, genius rock star was awarded the prize “for having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition.” The Nobel Prize award ceremony and banquet will be held in Stockholm on December 10, the anniversary of Alfred Nobel’s death.

As we noted in another piece, the 2016 election for the President of the United States, was very stressful. From the beginning, everyone underestimated Donald Trump, perhaps, but not me. Somehow, he pulled off a stunning victory after the most unprecedented of presidential campaigns. For those that know him personally, he is a kind, caring person. Those that only know him through the media, he channeled the fury of average Americans against Washington, and that’s how he won. He tapped into their anxiety about the present and the fear of the future. He spoke to the pain they felt about working hard and getting left behind. Somehow he managed to capture the charisma of the so called “basket of deplorables.” Unless you have been living under a rock, Donald Trump is our new President-Elect.

Yes, “The Rock,” Dwayne Johnson, might be eyeing the 2020 election for presidency. Dwayne, the former WWE superstar and currently the world’s highest paid actor, has been named People’s Sexiest Man Alive. Johnson, 44, stars in HBO’s “Ballers,” has headlined a slew of action and adventure movies, including “The Fast and the Furious” franchise and “San Andreas,” and voices a tattooed demigod in Disney’s new Polynesia-set “Moana.”

Johnson is half African-American and half Samoan, which explains his good looks. The first honor was back in 1996 to Denzel Washington, the first African-American to be named the sexiest man alive. Among those filling out his court? Singer and New Jersey native, Nick Jonas. The People’s list also includes, Prince Harry, comedian Keegan-Michael Key, actor John Krasinski, rapper Drake, actor Rami Malek, actor Jay Hernandez and Patrick “McDreamy” Dempsey.

Another good-looking retro-pop superstar is Bruno Mars that announced on November 15, his massive 24K Magic World Tour for 2017. The 85-date tour, kicks off March 28 in Belgium. Mars’ anticipated new album “24K Magic” is expected to be released on November 18. His eponymous single is currently No. 6 on the Hot 100. Mars, 31, headlined Super Bowl XLVIII back in 2014.

Rose’s Scoop: Could it be that Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony are back together? Musically, he is executive producing her album. as far as romantically, only time will tell.
