BRENTWOOD—At around 5 p.m. on Wednesday, September 5, officers from the Los Angeles Police Department were in pursuit of a homicide suspect who was driving a dark green pick-up truck with two other passengers in Woodland Hills.

LAPD officials indicated that the chase started at the 19,000 block of Delano Street. A news chopper with NBC4 Los Angeles followed the police chase from above. The suspect entered the 101 Freeway near the 405 interchange at around 5:15 p.m.

During the chase, one of the individuals inside the truck got out and was arrested by police, as the two other suspects stayed inside the vehicle. The truck barely missed several other vehicles during the chase.

During the chase the suspect exited the 405 at 4th Street in Santa Monica. Authorities tailed the truck on the streets in downtown Santa Monica before the suspect drove up Pico Boulevard and Olympic Boulevard before heading eastbound to West LA.

The suspect turned back and headed towards the beach on Santa Monica Boulevard before traveling northbound where he decided to turn onto Montana Avenue eastbound. The suspect turned into a Ralphs parking lot on Wilshire Boulevard and South Bundy Drive in Brentwood. He parked the vehicle in front of the store entrance, exited the pickup truck, and surrendered to authorities.

Both suspects were taken into custody. The driver of the vehicle has been identified as, Gregorio Garcia, 39, who was wanted by the LAPD for a double homicide that transpired in February 2018.
