WEST HOLLYWOOD—Hershel Louis Korngut was charged for performing lewd acts on girls at Universal Studios Hollywood in January. His victims were two children between the ages of 12 and 14, where Korngut exposed himself.

Korngut, a 34-year-old audiologist who worked at a hearing care facility in Tarzana, reportedly rubbed his exposed genitals against his young victims on January 1 at the theme park. Deputy Juanita Navarro-Suarez of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) indicated that deputies searched for the suspect and later located him after he returned to the theme park later in the week.

Canyon News previously reported that Korngut was arrested and transported to the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station, where he was cited and released, pending an order to appear at Van Nuys Courthouse West on April 4.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, West Hollywood Station are still investigating the case. Authorities obtained a search warrant to the suspect’s Los Angeles home where child pornography was found.

According to Deputy District Attorney Kelly Kraetsch, Korngut faces several charges including a felony count of possession of child or youth pornography, a misdemeanor count of indecent exposure and sexual battery, and two felony counts of lewd acts upon a child.

If Korngut is convicted, he could face up to 18 years in jail. Korngut was also a mentor at an Los Angeles based youth organization, where authorities suspect other victims may be out there.
